Lacey and Scott’s Reception
Lacey and Scott were married in Hawaii earlier this year but they had their quaint reception at Gather in Downtown McKinney this summer. Lacey wanted her floral and decor to be eclectic and non-traditional. Peacock feathers were the inspiration for the color choices, and I threw in a few feathers on the table decor too. And for those that don’t know about my obsession with burlap, Lacey wanted to incorporate burlap into the design so I was thrilled. I truly feel Lacey and Scott’s reception was special in that Kristin Mullen with Gather, Marcie with Unique Unique, Kate Mefford Photography and Emily Youngblood of Blessed Unions all worked together beautifully to pull off one heck of a party! Not to mention, I was given a sample of the pecan pie made with love by Gather and about died….so I can only imagine how yummy the rest of the food was!! Seriously, how cute are Lacey and Scott!?!
We did a mix of hydrangea, cabbage, poppy pods and succulents for the arrangements. I covered the vases with handmade burlap rosettes with peacock feather accents.
We used a mix of old boxes, moss, mason jars and old bottles to create lots of texture.
I loved the all white teapot collection on Gather’s back wall.
Notice the picture wall in the background…fun way to make your reception more personal.
We hung burlap draping from the awning to spice things up a bit. Instantly made me want to start hanging burlap all over my house. :)
What I love about events at Gather is you have the unique retail items for sale at Unique Unique (which is part of Gather) as part of your decor. And I am pretty sure Ms. Emily and Ms. Kate ended up going home with a few items that night!! There were lots of lovelies that I had my eye on as well.
